CITY OF DALLAS ORDINANCES
The Dallas city council passed the following ordinances at a meeting of the city council on May 27, 2026. This ordinance becomes effective with this publication in accordance with the city charter.
Ordinance No. 33431
An ordinance amending Chapter 27, "Minimum Property Standards," of the Dallas City Code, by amending Section 27-46; expanding the definition of code violations; providing a penalty not to exceed $500; providing a saving clause; providing a severability clause; and providing an effective date.
Ordinance No. 33432
That the rate adjustments and tariffs presented in the "Dallas Annual Rate Review Filing Test Year Ended 9-30-25" filed by Atmos Energy Corp. on January 15, 2026, are unreasonable and are therefore denied in all respects. That the tariffs attached hereto as Exhibit A, including tariffs, R-Residential Sales, C-Commercial Sales, I-Industrial Sales and T-Transportation, and rate riders WNA-Weather Normalization Adjustment (Dallas), SUR-Surcharges, and CEE-Conservation and Energy Efficiency are hereby approved effective June 1, 2026.

An ordinance appointing certain persons as full-time and associate (part-time) municipal judges for a two-year term ending May 31, 2028; designating an administrative municipal judge; establishing the annual salaries for the administrative municipal judge, the municipal judges, and the associate municipal judges; providing a severability clause; and providing an effective date.

An ordinance amending Article 880, "PD 880," of Chapter 51P, "Dallas Development Code: Planned Development District Regulations," of the Dallas City Code; amending the exhibit, development plan, main uses permitted, and yard, lot, and space regulations in Sections 51P-880.104, 51P-880.105, 51P-880.106, and 51P-880.108; providing a new Section 51P-880.112.1, "Pedestrian Amenities for a Private School"; providing a new Section 51P-880.112.2, "Traffic Management Plan"; providing a traffic management plan; providing a saving clause; providing a severability clause; and providing an effective date.

An ordinance changing the zoning classification on the following property: BEING all of Lot 1A in City Block A/7357; fronting approximately 271.2 feet on the west line of La Prada Drive; fronting approximately 264.74 feet on east line of Shiloh Road; and containing approximately 5.06 acres, from an R-7.5(A) Single Family District and an MF-1(A) Multifamily District to Planned Development District No. 1144; amending Chapter 51P, "Dallas Development Code: Planned Development District Regulations," of the Dallas City Code by creating a new Article 1144; establishing use regulations and development standards for this planned development district; providing a penalty not to exceed $2,000; providing a saving clause; providing a severability clause; and providing an effective date.

An ordinance amending Ordinance No. 28163, passed by the Dallas City Council on April 13, 2011, as amended by Ordinance No. 31574, passed by the Dallas City Council on June 24, 2020, as amended by Ordinance No. 32216, passed by the Dallas City Council on May 25, 2022, which amended the zoning ordinances of the City of Dallas, and granted Specific Use Permit No. 1831 for a bail bonds office; amending the conditions in Section 2 of that ordinance; providing a penalty not to exceed $2,000; providing a saving clause; providing a severability clause; and providing an effective date.

An ordinance amending the zoning ordinances of the City of Dallas by permitting the following property, which is presently zoned as a CR Community Retail District: BEING a tract of land in City Block 5361; fronting approximately 583.42 feet along the northwest line of Alvin Street; fronting approximately 207.90 feet along the southeast line of Garland Road; and containing approximately 4.253 acres, to be used under Specific Use Permit No. 2635 for an open-enrollment charter school; providing that this specific use permit shall be granted subject to certain conditions; providing a penalty not to exceed $2,000; providing a saving clause; providing a severability clause; and providing an effective date.

An ordinance amending Chapter 51, "Dallas Development Code: Ordinance No. 10962, as amended," and Chapter 51A, "Dallas Development Code: Ordinance No. 19455, as amended," of the Dallas City Code by amending Sections 51-4.208, 51-4.210, and 51A-4.210; deleting commercial wedding chapel as a land use; creating event venue as a new land use subject to certain regulations; providing a penalty not to exceed $2,000; providing a saving clause; providing a severability clause; and providing an effective date.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 27435, PREVIOUSLY APPROVED ON DECEMBER 10, 2008, AS AMENDED, AND ORDINANCE NO. 27690, PREVIOUSLY APPROVED ON SEPTEMBER 23, 2009 TO: (1) INCREASE THE GEOGRAPHIC AREA OF Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone Number Eighteen, the Maple/Mockingbird Tax Increment Financing ("TIF") District ("Zone") BY APPROXIMATELY 9.3 ACRES TO ADD THE REAL PROPERTY CURRENTLY ADDRESSED AS 1545 WEST MOCKINGBIRD LANE; (2) MAKE CORRESPONDING MODIFICATIONS TO THE ZONE'S BOUNDARY AND PROJECT PLAN AND REINVESTMENT ZONE FINANCING PLAN ("PLAN"); AND (3) INCLUDE FINDINGS THAT (A) VACANT AND UNDERUTILIZED PROPERTY IN THE PROPOSED EXPANSION AREA SUBSTANTIALLY ARRESTS OR IMPAIRS THE SOUND GROWTH OF THE CITY, (B) DEVELOPMENT OR REDEVELOPMENT IN THE PROPOSED EXPANSION AREA WILL LIKELY NOT OCCUR SOLELY THROUGH PRIVATE INVESTMENT IN THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE, AND (C) INCLUSION OF THE PROPOSED EXPANSION AREA WILL HAVE AN OVERALL BENEFIT TO, AND FURTHER THE PURPOSES OF, THE ZONE, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE TAX INCREMENT FINANCING ACT; AND CONTAINING OTHER RELATED MATTERS; PROVIDING A SAVING CLAUSE; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

An ordinance amending Ordinance No. 20860, "Thoroughfare Plan – City of Dallas, Texas"; changing the designation of Wheatland Road from the Dallas/Lancaster city limit line to Lancaster Road from a four-lane undivided residential collector roadway within 60 feet of right-of-way and 40 feet of pavement (M-4-U) to a special four-lane undivided community collector roadway in 80 feet of right-of-way with a bicycle facility (SPCL 4U); adding Wheatland Road from University Hills Boulevard to the Dallas/Lancaster city limit line as a special four-lane undivided community collector roadway in 96 feet of right-of-way with a bicycle facility (SPL 4U); providing a saving clause; providing a severability clause; and providing an effective date.
