City of Plano Legal Notice
The following Ordinances were passed by the Plano City Council on July 27, 2026 (Title and Penalty Clause Only).
ORDINANCE NO. 2026-7-6 - An Ordinance of the City of Plano, Texas, amending Section 6-731, Definitions, Section 6-733, Applicability, administration and training, and Section 6-748, Offenses of Article XXIV, Registration of Short-term Rental Properties, of Chapter 6, Buildings and Building Regulations, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Plano, to clarify definitions, remove ambiguity, delineate responsibilities to ensure appropriate enforcement, and set a deadline for nonconformity determinations; and providing a repealer clause, a severability clause, a penalty clause, a savings clause, a publication clause, and an effective date.
Any violation of the provisions or terms of this ordinance by any person, firm or corporation shall be a misdemeanor offense and shall be subject to a fine in accordance with Section 1-4(a) of the City of Plano Code of Ordinances for each offense. Every day a violation continues shall constitute a separate offense.
ORDINANCE NO. 2026-7-7 - An Ordinance of the City of Plano, Texas, appointing an Associate Judge of the Municipal Court of Record of the City of Plano, setting the term of office and compensation for the Judge; and providing a publication clause, and an effective date.
ORDINANCE NO. 2026-7-8 - An Ordinance of the City of Plano, Texas, amending Section 12-73(d), Same — Specific zones, of Article IV, Speed, of Chapter 12, Motor Vehicles and Traffic, of the City of Plano Code of Ordinances, to revise the effective times and split the school zone into two shorter school zones on Cross Bend Road, within the city limits of the City of Plano; and providing a penalty clause, a repealer clause, a severability clause, a savings clause, a publication clause, and an effective date.
Any violation of any provision or term of this Ordinance shall be a Class C Misdemeanor offense. Any person, firm, corporation, or association who is adjudged guilty of a Class C Misdemeanor offense under this Ordinance shall be
punished by a fine not to exceed FIVE HUNDRED AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($500.00) for each offense. Each and every violation shall be deemed to constitute a separate offense.
ORDINANCE NO. 2026-7-9 - An Ordinance of the City of Plano, Texas, amending Section 12-101, Prohibited on certain streets at all times, of Article V, Stopping, Standing and Parking, of Chapter 12, Motor Vehicles and Traffic, of the City of Plano Code of Ordinances, to establish no parking zones along certain sections of Columbia Place between Park Boulevard and 15th Street, within the city limits of the City of Plano; and providing a penalty clause, a repealer clause, a severability clause, a savings clause, a publication clause, and an effective date.
Any violation of any provision or term of this Ordinance shall be a Class C misdemeanor offense. Any person, firm, corporation, or association who is adjudged guilty of a Class C Misdemeanor offense under this Ordinance shall be punished by a fine not to exceed FIVE HUNDRED AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($500.00) for each offense. Each and every violation shall be deemed to constitute a separate offense.

On or about June 29, 2026, The Bank of Nova Scotia, Toronto, Canada filed an application to the Federal Reserve Board for permission to acquire Maple Financial Holdings, Inc., Dallas, Texas, by merger, and thereby to indirectly acquire MapleMark Bank of Tulsa, Oklahoma (and, upon its conversion from an Oklahoma state-chartered member bank to a Texas state-chartered member bank, which is expected to occur concurrently with the consummation of the acquisition, Dallas, Texas).
