Public Notice: Letter of Map Revision
The Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) for a community depicts land which has been determined to be subject to a 1% (100-year) or greater annual chance of flooding in any given year. The FIRM is used to determine flood insurance rates and to help the community with floodplain management.
Thompson Land Engineering, LLC is applying for a Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (DHS-FEMA) on behalf of Felter Investments, Ltd to revise FIRM #48453C, panel #0605, suffix K for City of Austin along Burleson Creek Tributary 2. Felter Investments, Ltd is proposing to establish Base Flood Elevations as part of the Burleson Road Office Warehouse Site Plan.
The Letter of Map Revision will result in:
The floodplain will be revised from a point approximately 590 feet upstream to 1,300 feet upstream of the confluence with Burleson Creek along Burleson Creek Tributary 2. The floodplain will narrow (decrease) within the revised area.
Base Flood Elevations (BFEs) will be established along Burleson Creek Tributary 2.
The 1% annual chance floodplain will decrease along Burleson Creek Tributary 2.
Maps and detailed analysis of the revision can be reviewed at the One Texas Center Building at 505 Barton Springs Road, Austin, Texas 78704. If you have any questions or concerns about the proposed project or its effect on your property, you may contact the City of Austin's Floodplain Administrator, Kevin Shunk, PE, CFM, at (512) 974-9176 between Monday and Friday.
