Crossing Students Safely in the
Dallas-Fort Worth Region

The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) is requesting written proposals from consultant firms to develop a regional plan for the safety of pedestrian crossings at schools and the establishment of crossing guards, called Crossing Students Safely in the Dallas-Fort Worth Region. Development of the plan will include 1) engaging stakeholders to identify crossing guard establishment challenges and needs, 2) collecting and analyzing school zone pedestrian crossing and infrastructure data, 3) developing a regional school crossing guard placement decision-making process, and 4) developing tools and recommendations for pedestrian crossing safety in school zones.
NCTCOG will be releasing this Request for Proposals (RFP) on Friday, July 31, 2026, in the Bidnet Direct system and will accept electronic submissions through the Bidnet Direct system only. The Bidnet Direct submittal will count as the official submittal. Proposals must be submitted in Bidnet Direct no later than 5:00 p.m., Central Time, on Friday, August 28, 2026. Proposals received after that time will not be accepted.
